Is spotting normal during pregnancy?
Q: My friend who is approximently 3 months pregnant is really upset and worried because she is spotting. She says that she doesn’t have any cramps. Is spotting normal during pregnancy normal?
A: First and always, she needs to contact her doctor, it is perfectly normal. I am pregnant with twins, 22 and half weeks and spot periodically. The doctor told me that this is normal throughout your second tri mester and if you have placenta previa, which I did with my first three, it is normal through the whole thing. Even with cramping. Always though have her tell her doctor, they will check her cervix, make sure she isn’t thinning or dialating and might do an ultrasound to check for placenta pervia. Tell her it is almost 99% of the time perfectly harmless, but should still be checked out, better safe than sorry. That is what the doctor is there for.
is brownish spotting normal during pregnancy?
Q: I am 8 weeks pregnant now and have a brown spotting when i use the restroom. Is this normal?
A: Spotting is normal for about 1 in 4 pregnancies. If it turns red then go to your emergency department ASAP. However, if it turns red then there is probably little you can do about it.I had brown spotting and the midwife said it was fine – however, it turned red that night and I had a miscarriage over the next few days. It was a missed miscarriage and I had no idea that the baby had stopped growing a couple of weeks ago.I don’t want to scare you but this is the facts – so keep an eye on it and get in right away if it turns into fresh blood. I wish you all the best for a very safe pregnancy.
Is Spotting during pregnancy is normal?
Q: I had mild spotting about 3 weeks back and the Dr asked me to be in complete bed rest after that. I did a home pregnancy test and it showed positive. I did not get any spotting after that. Is this spotting normal???Or should any special care should be taken??? Pls help
A: I don’t know what the 1st two answerers were going on about! They’ve obviously never been pregnant. Spotting during pregnancy can be completely normal, and is quite common. However, if you’ve had a scan and have placenta previa then spotting should be taken seriously. Spotting and even light bleeding in pregnancy is common, and is only cause for concern if you have cramping with the spotting, or if your dr has classed you as having a high-risk pregnancy. How far pregnant are you? Has the spotting stopped? I doubt if you’re no longer having symptoms that you need to be on bed rest… go get a 2nd opinion.
