One of our more recent reviews for TOS has been a fun little program called Wordy Querty from the folks over at Talking Fingers.
The program was designed for 7-9 year old children and is to be used in conjunction with another program they offer called Read, Write and Type.
We have had no prior experience with Read, Write and Type so I was a little worried that my youngest child would be confused about this program.
I am very happy to report that this is not the case at all. You can use Wordy Querty as a stand alone product without prior knowledge of the first program.
So with those worries out of the way what exactly is Wordy Querty?
Wordy Querty is a great little program that helps children through the next steps of reading and writing. They are taught the basics and then Wordy Querty comes in to build the basics up even higher.
What did my daughter think?
Brianna – age 10
“It was okay. I liked the game where you popped the balloons and words go on a sentence.
I didn’t like the machine that sucks all the words up and tells you the right from wrong words.
I didn’t like the part where you couldn’t choose what you wanted to do because you had to work through it in order.
I give it a 45 out of 75.”
So there you have it from the mouth of my little girl.
What did I think?
I found the program to be a fun deviation from regular book work type of reading and writing.
Overall the program was fun and wasn’t to bright or flashy on the eyes.
I am a high speed internet user and found that even with the high speed connection, the program would take forever to load at times. We were a bit disappointed and even discouraged some days.
