Tim Tebow..What A President Can Learn

Using the words Tebow and President in the same sentence may make many cringe or perhaps make you think I am a bit loopy but read on, it’s not so crazy afterall. Tebow is Denver’s unorthodox quarterback who won this Sunday’s game with Kansas City in the most unusual way, handing the ball off to others repeatedly, running the ball himself , avoiding mistakes and in the clutch making the Big Play. Now a whole city believes and has hope when hope was lost. Our country could use a dose of the optimism and hope Tebow brings to Denver. Are you paying attention Mr. President and Presidential wannabees because the recipe for winning in 2012 is spelled TEBOW.

Handing the ball off to others may seem like avoiding responsibility but in fact what it does is show you have faith in your teammates abilities to help you win. The best Presidents surround themselves with top advisors to bring them the best choices to our toughest problems. Sometimes the smartest Presidents..Wilson..Carter..Obama?..try to do too much themselves and wind up failing. Mr. President please hand the ball off more.

Run with the ball yourself. When Tebow runs the option play he puts the ball in the belly of his running back and has the option of pulling it out and running the ball himself if he sees an opening. Mr. President look for the openings and run like Tebow does. Don’t be afraid to take a hard hit to get that extra yard. Americans want a leader who can take a hit!

Aviod mistakes. Tebow did not fumble or throw an interception in Sunday’s victory. Many politicians can tell you that one mistake can be the difference in an election, changing a candidate’s momentum..changing a country’s momentum. Look at the mess our country is in…we cannot afford..literally afford any more mistakes.

Make the Big Play. Tebow only completed 2 passes all day but made the second one count, a 56 yard touchdown pass to seal the victory. Mr President go for the bomb. Obamacare was an incompletion, where is your Green Energy? Where are your opponent’s Big Play ideas?

Finally as Hall of Famer Deion Sanders puts it Tebow has “It.” That intangible quality that makes others do more than they thought they could, makes whole cities believe that anything is possible and produces the most unlikely victories the NFL has seen in decades. Mr. President so many were sure you had “It” when you won in 2008. Convince us you still have that quality and for the Republican contenders convince us that with you as President anything is possible.

Afterall, it is all about winning both in the NFL and in Politics. Tebow for President in 2042..may not be so farfetched as you think.
