BE APPROACHABLE:
Do you realize that the It girl is never threatening? They are never the villain. They possess everything any woman could ever want, but for some reason we just aren’t jealous of them. They don’t seem like they are out to get anyone. They are just living life and being happy.
Some of them are kind of self absorbed. They are wrapped up in their own world and they couldn’t care less about ours. This isn’t a good thing, but that seems to be the way many of them are. If everyone was concerned with their own life and their own happiness as much as the It girls are with theirs, then maybe they would be happier too.
Women are always trying to take care of everyone and everything, and they don’t give themselves enough attention. It’s okay to start looking out for #1, just don’t be snotty or smug to other people as you do it. Give yourself a little more attention and live your life the way is best for you.
GET ATTENTION:
It girls always try to find a way to capture our attention. They keep us on the edge of our seats and they keep us talking. They are not like other women. They have no fear of being talked about or looked at. They love being the center of attention. They freaking feed off it!
You can be an attention grabber without being an attention hog. It all should look effortless and natural–even if it isn’t. Celebrities pull publicity stunts all the time, why can’t you?
BE ATTRACTIVE:
Don’t you think that the It girl is usually desirable? Of course she is! The guys love them, and women do too. Women want to look like those girls and attract the guys just like them.
Even when they are single, they still have a man in their life that they are “getting to know”. Because of the unfortunate history in our country, a lot of women then were viewed as more valuable if they had a husband than those that didn’t. And today people still think that. Women are still judged by their ability to get or keep a man. So, why not use that to your advantage?
It girls know that a woman becomes more powerful and relevant if she has an active dating/love life. So if you have someone in your life, don’t be afraid to show the world! And if you don’t have a man, get one! No, but seriously, find someone to hang around with just to start some speculation. Get people talking a little.
HAVE FASHION SENSE:
Name one It girl that doesn’t know how to dress? Kate Middleton, Rihanna, Victoria Beckham–they all have a great sense of style. Each of them have become fashion icons to most of us.
Fashion is an expression of who we are, but it also makes us look organized and put together, and all women are expected to be clean and organized to a certain extent. I remember when I was in high school, I wore a pink sweater, black skirt, and pink and black pumps, and a boy sitting next to me looked at me and said, “Now that’s how it’s supposed to be.” Later on a teacher said, “Your outfit is so well put together”. It was a simple outfit, but it was fashionable and people loved it.
Brush up on your fashion sense by taking notes from the fashionable women you see in your everyday life and on television. Read magazines like Lucky and Vogue for other ideas.
HAVE COURAGE:
It girls are brave. They are bold and they make no apologies for it. They embrace who they are and they are confident in who they are. You can even say that some of them are a bit arrogant about it. But as we said in pt. 2, they do it with class.
We all can be courageous by not second guessing ourselves. Women too often feel like they aren’t pretty enough, smart enough, or good enough in some way or another. We all have room for improvement, but don’t beat yourself up about it. Even if you feel weird or out of place, you can still be confident. Fake it until you make it.
