The Devil is Not Your Homeboy: Ephesians 4:27

Ephesians 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.

There was once a man who had a home to sell. He originally wanted $5,000 for it, but an older man pleaded with the man to sell it to him for less than half. The seller of the house agreed to do so only on one condition: that he would always own a part of the house. In this case, it would be the one nail above the front door. The buyer agreed. Years went by, and the seller began to regret selling the place, so he tried to buy the house back. The current owner refused. The seller decided to get the current owner back by finding a carcass of a dead animal and hanging it on the one nail that he owned. By doing this, this made the living conditions of the house impossible to bear.
There was nothing that the current owner could do. Since the seller owned the nail above the front door, the seller could do what he wanted with it. He owned it.

This is what happens when we give the devil an inch: he takes 1,000,000 miles. He doesn’t want to let go. When we give our lives over to GOD/JESUS, we must not dip our toe back into the sea of sin when GOD saved us from drowning in the first place. If we give place to the devil, he will not want to let go on his own. In fact, the bible says Matthew 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there:

When we give our lives to JESUS, we become cleaner than we could ever hope to become on our own. If we allow the enemy even a hole to fit his head in, like a rat, he will squeeze in until he is in, and then it isn’t anyway he will be chased out by our own efforts. We would need a professional: JESUS CHRIST. Warning: once you are saved, yet you allow the enemy a chance to wreak havoc in your life by allowing sin to get out of control, it is really difficult to get back on the right track. Not because GOD isn’t able, but the guilt will be so fierce and palpable that it would be hard to bear. There are people in hell today who had given their lives to CHRIST, but they allowed sin to takeover, and they had given up on hope in CHRIST. Plenty of people would say that, “Oh, I can handle it. That wouldn’t happen to me. I am too strong for that.” If you were weak enough to fall into the one thing GOD hates, what makes you think you are strong enough to escape the one thing that the enemy loves? GOD will ALWAYS triumph over the enemy, hands down. It is best to just avoid situations that we are prone to weakness and stay as close to JESUS CHRIST as we can. We will be better for it, in the eternal run.
