Tag Miniature Scrapbook

Most craft stores have huge aisles filled with scrapbook embellishments like papers, borders, conversation bubbles, tags, and other things. Scrapbook paper is used for scrapbooks, sure, but for many other projects as well. The same can be said for stickers, monograms, and other embellishments. Although scrapbook tags can come in an array of colors and sizes, they’re seldom used for other purposes besides creating scrapbooks. But you can use those tags – or even homemade tags – to create the most adorable miniature scrapbook. It’s perfect as a favor for a wedding, or just to keep for yourself.

Most scrapbook tags are fairly small so, if you want, you can make your own, much larger tags. All you have to do is cut some rectangles, then cut one short end of each rectangle into a pointed shape. Square off the point and you have a nice tag shape for a miniature scrapbook. Make two tags from extra thick paper, to use as the front and back of the miniature scrapbook. Craft the inside pages from thinner paper. Some sources for the papers and covers include scrapbook paper, calendar pages, wallpaper, envelopes, or colored printer paper.

If you’ve purchased a scrapbook tag it probably already has a hole at the pointed end so that you can thread a string through it. If you’ve made your own tags, create a hole at the pointed end of each one. Reinforce the hole, plus give it more of a finished look, by sticking one of those circular pieces from an office supply store on it. You know the type? It’s made to go over a torn circle on a notebook paper so that the ring of the binder can hold it.

Lay the bottom cover of the scrapbook on a table, stack the pages on it, then top it off by placing the front cover. After that, decide how to string them all together. You can use a single metal ring, thread a piece of satin ribbon through the holes, or you could even use yarn.

Upload photos and shrink them to add images to the scrapbook. Treat the scrapbook like any other, by adding embellishments and accents, or just glue a miniature picture onto each page. Make one scrapbook and fill it with pictures of your baby, make many and hand them out at a wedding or birthday, or even enlarge the tags and make a large coffee table version. Anyone who owns one of the new scrapbooks will cherish it forever.
