Sarah Jessica Parker Shines on ‘The View’ Talking About ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’

Sarah Jessica Parker was a shining star this morning on ABC chat-fest “The View.” Parker was in the house to promote her new dramatic comedy flick “I Don’t Know How She Does It.” The chyron informed us that the episode was previously recorded but it felt right on time as the star took a seat on the new set’s light blue, turquoise-ish extended sofa.

Before SJP made her appearance Joy Behar joked about getting married later in life. She referred to a previous show where she said that she could cover the AARP version of Brides Magazine. Luckily the folks at Brides have a great sense of humor so they sent Behar a mock up of what the old fogey bridal mag cover would look like.

Sarah Jessica’s look signaled the beginning of Fall. She wore a beautiful floral dress in Autumn’s jewel tones. The ladies remarked that she smelled good and although she wasn’t wearing her own fragrances, the “Sex and the City” star talked about her two perfumes, Lovely and Covet. They also dished about Parker covering the September issue of Vogue Magazine, on newsstands now.

“I Don’t Know How She Does It” the movie is based on a bestselling novel by writer Allison Pearson. Joy pointed out that the book had been on the New York Times bestseller’s list for twenty-three weeks. Phew! No pressure there. According to Sarah Jessica the author is pleased and has seen the film three times.

Joy then paid SJP the ultimate compliment saying that our girl who plays polar opposites Carrie B. and Kate Reddy is “always funny.” Nice! It was a mutual admiration society as Matthew Broderick’s wife explained that it was key to her to come to “The View” with this project. She explained that the show does something very special by engaging women in conversation. Here-here!

In addition to clips from the film they watched Sarah Jessica as a singing and dancing child star. The video was from a 1979 “Bob Hope Special.” Our girl was playing none other than “Annie” complete with a dog. The trip down memory lane and ghosts of Parker’s past of course would not have been complete without clips of her starring with her degree of Kevin Bacon in “Footloose.” Fun!

I haven’t seen “I Don’t Know How She Does It” yet but it looks like a great time. As SJP said, Kate Reddy’s story is the story of millions of American women. It’s about choices. We look forward to seeing what our girl does next!
