More “Saturday Night Live” Ice Cream Flavors that Fans of Schweddy Balls Won’t Be Able to Resist

As those of you who follow the latest dessert trends all know, Ben & Jerry has created a limited-edition flavor “Schweddy Balls,” based on a classic 1997 “Saturday Night Live” sketch. This combination of vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered rum and malt balls received much press this week and more giggles than your average Cherry Garcia.

For those scientists in the ice cream research and development labs, here are more flavors to consider, based on “Saturday Night Live” sketches:

“I’m Gumby, Dammit!” Gumballs would be of the essence for this Eddie Murphy character.

“Betty White’s Muffin.” A vote for baked goods in salute to the first SNL host petitioned by popular demand.

“Jane, You Ignorant Fudge!” Not even Dan Aykroyd would debate the need for more fudge.

“French Vanilla Coneheads.” Because those aliens are from France.

“Wayne’s Swirl.” Not sure what to mix here since we’re not worthy.

“Frank Sinatra’s Chunks in His Stool.” Mystery mix. Billy Idol not included.

“Church Lady’s Angel Food.” I don’t know who would request this cake batter combo. Maybe… Satan?

“Nut X.” Chris Rock’s talk show gets only one scoop. Because “the man” won’t let them scoop two.

“Fernandough’s Hideaway.” Cookie dough is mahvelous, absolutely mahvelous.

“The Bluesberry Brothers.” A new mission from God.

“More Cowbell.” More dairy.

“Unfrozen Yogurt Caveman Lawyer.” This flavor frightens and confuses me.

“In a Vanilla Down by the River.” Recommended by motivational speaker Matt Foley (Chris Farley).

“Coffee Talk.” It’s like buttah pecan.

“Stefon’s Mintdget” A favorite among the NYC club scene.

“MacGraper.” This new sherbet will melt in 5…4… 3…2…

“Peppermint Stick in a Box.” Stick your cone in a box.

Think it over, ice cream architects. There could be a whole wave of Saturday Night Sundaes.
