With Halloween fast approaching, have you decided yet what costume you’re going to wear? Or, are you one of those wait-til-the -last-minute types, who haven’t yet given this much consideration? If you’re finding yourself still clueless, and don’t want to spend a lot of time, effort, or money on a costume, here are a few cute ideas.
The “cereal killer” (note the play on words and the spelling) costume seemed to be a big hit this year, as two separate people in attendance at a neighborhood Halloween party this past weekend came as this. Each had a slightly different take on the same idea. Both had small cereal boxes with regular kitchen butter knives stuck through them, and affixed them to their regular clothing. Creative, clever, and inexpensive!
Another cute idea, along the same line, is to take several regulation kitchen sponges and affix them to your shirt, therefore making you “self absorbed”. These are both cute, inexpensive, creative ideas that can pretty much be accomplished last minute with items you probably have around the house anyway.
A great idea for a man would be to slip on the bathrobe, slick the hair back and go as Hugh Hefner. For the ladies, slip on a cozy pair of flannel pajamas, put your hair in ponytails, and borrow one of your kids’ stuffed teddy bears for the evening, and go as a little kid. These are about the most comfy costume ideas out there, and won’t cost you a penny.
It doesn’t take much to think about something simple and easy to be for Halloween, as almost anything goes. Look through your makeup bag and your closets, and you will most likely find some inspiration for a costume idea. Have a fun and safe Halloween!
