1. Keep a small plastic bag in your car at all times. Preferably in the glove compartment. When you are getting in an out of your car each time coming home and when shopping, be sure to fill the trash bag with any loose trash in your car. If you have children in the back seat, this is a good job for them to do while you are riding. Do this routine regularly.
2. Do not eat in your car if possible. There may be times when this cannot be avoided. If that happens, be sure to dispose of any leftovers immediately after eating.
3. Keep a can of upholstery cleaner available at your house for spots or spills on your interior upholstery.
4. Depending on the amount of traffic in your car, vacuum your car at least once a week, or once every 2 weeks. The more often it is done, the easier it is to keep it clean.
5. It is nice to look out of clean windows. Get that Windex out and clean the inside of the windows. How often will depend on how many children fingerprints are appearing on the windows. Have you seen some people’s car’s that have fingerprints of the little one’s all over the window? These are not recent prints, but old prints that have been on their for some time.
6. Now ladies, it should not matter whether you or your spouse clean the interior of the car. If the car is dirty someone needs to clean the inside of the car. It is not necessarily a “man’s job. Also, now many working women are single and must clean their own vehicles.
7. Air fresheners will give that finished touched. There are a variety of air fresheners that you can purchase for your car. You can purchase them from the dollar store for about $1.00 or from Yankee Candle Store for about $4.00. I have found that the air fresheners from Yankee Candle Store are much more potent and have much longer lasting potential for the car.
