How to Have an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

Having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party is a fun alternative to a regular boring holiday party. Tired of the usual Secret Santa’s and Yankee Swaps? Well dig out Grandma’s ugliest Christmas sweater, follow these easy steps and be prepared to have the tackiest night of your life.
Send Out Invites
Send out the tackiest invites informing your guest of your party, but be sure to tell them about the MANDATORY dress code and ugly Christmas sweater. We used this song we found on the Internet for our invite.
“Bright green and red, it’s not adorable, In the branch, the sweaters are horrible, A shameful site,
We’re embarrassed tonight, Walking in an Ugly Christmas Sweater Wonderland.
Gone away is the formal attire, For today, jeans as well to admire,Plus the sweater grandma knit,
You hate it, but won’t admit,Walking in an Ugly Christmas Sweater Wonderland.” Be creative and have fun with it! Get Ugly Sweaters
Head over to Grandma’s house and go through her closet to pick the ugliest tackiest Christmas sweater you can find, and it will be totally free! Be careful not to offend Grandma though! Another cheap option is Salvation Army. Half the fun is finding a sweater! We found ours for under $5 each. As the host, you should probably pick up a couple of extra sweaters for guests who refused to pick up a sweater themselves. Photo Wall
When everyone arrives in their tacky sweaters, you are going to want pictures! We covered the sliding glass doors with ugly Christmas wrap and surrounded the door with Christmas lights. It was the perfect backdrop for our photo ops. Don’t forget to decorate the rest of your house too!
Set Up A Runway and Vote!
Designate an area for a runway where you and your guest can model your ugly sweaters. Have everyone vote on the ugliest sweater (no voting for yourself). Provide a gift for ugliest sweaters – one male and one female winner. Have Fun!
Drink and be merry! The whole point is to get together with friends and family around the holidays and have fun!
