How to Get Groceries and Goods for Free

We have all heard the stories and seen the TV shoes featuring people getting groceries and other items for free. Many of us have wondered if it is even possible.

The truth is, for the majority of us, yes you can get some items for free or seriously discounted. Getting your whole shopping cart for free may be a different story.

The reality is this.

For these people to get free stuff, it took a lot of learning and time. Learning how to use coupons and store strategies in addition to the time to execute them together.

Free stuff just doesn’t fall into your lap. Having said that, it should not be difficult for you to be able to get at least a few free items and a few great deals a week if you work at it.

Here is how it is done.

It’s all about learning the store policies, opportunities and applying what you have on hand to be successful.

For example:

Store “A” has your favorite antiperspirant on sale for $1.99.

Store “A” also has their own printable coupons and they allow you to use these coupons in addition to your own coupons.

Last week you went into store “A” and purchased $10 worth of chewing gum. The store rewarded you with a $1 off anything coupon on your next visit (reward, buck, whatever you want to call it).

Store “A” has a printable coupon for 50¢ off the antiperspirant.

Your weekend paper had a 50¢ off coupon as well.

Because you did your homework, you know about these coupons, the store’s coupon policy, and about the sale. You take your 2 coupons and you reward to the store with you.

Regular price of the Antiperspirant= $3.99

Sale Price of the Antiperspirant= $1.99

Coupon #1 .50

Coupon #2 .50

Your reward from last time $1.00

While not everything will always be free, you can count on some items being free and others being a great deal. Some people will do this to make it all happen in an extreme-like way.Get back into the register line and apply your ‘reward’ to another purchase. Some people will continually do this to get more rewards to apply to new deals. Go back to the store or another location with your coupons etc. Team up with another saver and combine you purchasing efforts- they get your deals for you as you get their deals for them. Print extra coupons (usually there is up to a 3 print limit per computer) or get extra sources for coupons (weekend papers, etc). Do a deal match at another store that accepts competitors coupons etc. Write to companies asking for samples and coupons. Check the internet for leads on samples and coupons. Find rebates that can make items a better deal.

You may not be able to get everything you normally purchase for free but, you never know when you will find something new to try and enjoy.
