People by more and more clothing, shoes, and accessories because then they don’t like looking exactly the same as they have before. We like people to see us in new things, unique things, and we spend a lot of money to do that. But when you take advantage of certain accessories you can take existing clothes and give them new looks, many different times. Take the flower clip, for example. The clip is really easy to make and can instantly give a new look to shoes, belts, dresses, shirts, and even hair. With assorted clips you can make a small amount of clothing look like a vast wardrobe.
There is more than one way to make a flower clip. One way is to choose a silk flower – a fairly large one – and attach the clip. First, cut the stem from the flower and cut it very close. Now, use a paper clip as the flower clip. Push a thread through the end of the paper clip which has one loop instead of two. Tie a knot in the thread. Then, wrap the thread around the very end of the flower and tie another knot.
Another way to make the flower clips is to use a template and make fabric flowers. You can download several different flower templates here. Cut out the flowers and assemble them according to the tutorial at the same link. With fabric flowers you’ll use a needle and thread to connect the clip to the flower. From underneath the flower, take a couple of stitches with needle and thread, then pass the needle through the end of the paper clip that has just one loop. Do this several times to secure the paper clip to the flower.
You can wear the clip flowers many different ways. Slide them onto dressy shoes, onto the shoulder or neckline of a tank top or sleeveless dress, slide one or more flowers onto a belt, clip one onto a ponytail tie, slide one onto the strap of your purse, and even clip them onto something like a lampshade.
There is literally no limits when it comes to making and wearing the flower clips. Besides silk and fabric flowers you can make yarn flowers and even foam flowers. When you make tiny flower clips, huge flower clips, and an assortment of colors and patterns on the clips, you create a wardrobe that keeps on giving. Instead of going out and buying a new outfit you can simply clip on one or more of the flowers and you’ll look like you’ve got on a new outfit; and think of all the money you’ll save.
