This is going to be short and to the point. There are certain times when a person should say goodbye to their current church: if the pastor is consistently stepping out on his wife; if he is gay, and if he thinks it’s okay to read horoscope and go by what zodiac signs. These are some of the reasons why it is necessary for a CHRISTian to leave their church. Don’t get me wrong; no one is perfect. If a person, a man of GOD even, falls away or backslides, and they repent and turn from their ways, love him back into the fold. Pray for them if they seem not to do it right away. Too many times, believers give up on their man or woman of GOD if they are caught in the snares of the devil. We are not to give up on any person who falls away; that is when we should pray for them the most and the hardest. But sin is like an illness: it can debilitate a person, keep them from functioning properly in their respective duties. A man of GOD who has backslid needs to sit down not just a s a source of punishment, but to heal. The enemy just hit him with a major blow, a painful one, one with many repercussions. No one should point the finger at a fallen man of GOD. The man of GOD should sit out for a good amount of time. Some say a year is good. This time is to get closer with GOD and to recoup. But, the gist of it is that he should ‘sit.’ We wouldn’t expect a supervisor to come to work and lead after having major surgery for cancer, would we? Sin is cancer. Healing needs to take place. In this article, it’s not just about horoscopes, although, I did leave a church because of that. We as believers have to be careful who is covering us. What comes off of the shepherd, goes on the sheep. Psalm 133 1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Judging is wrong, but making sound judgments is right. Men and women of GOD have their antennas tuned into GOD. When sin gets in the way, those antennas become out of focus, causing the man of GOD to hear the wrong thing. This can affect you tremendously. Before leaving, pray and ask GOD to help you to leave. And when you leave, ask GOD to keep that door shut until further notice. In JESUS’s name. P.S. Witchcraft is wrong and dangerous.
