Broken Rules and an Unpaid Debt for Border Agent Jesus Diaz

Border Patrol Agent Jesus Diaz was a seasoned 7 + years veteran law enforcement officer who was burned and discredited without any form of justice and due process that protects American citizens. Today, he survives doing time inside a Del Rio Texas prison coping with the madness of solitary confinement conditions and impossible conditions to be a father and husband to his family. Agent Diaz was a trusted and loyal border agent before this nightmare created by the Department of Justice was fabricated to illustrate to other Border Agents that excessive force and “color of law” civil rights violations would not be tolerated and prosecuted under the fullest extent of the federal laws that applied. Already cleared by his own Inspector General internal affairs officers, Agent Diaz was targeted and arrested to serve time to a crime he didn’t commit. His wife, Diana, also a border patrol agent, spoke out today with Fox News reporter Megan Kelly on his incarceration and sentence of 2 years in prison after already serving over 8 months in solitary confinement awaiting sentencing. She described a loving husband, father, who has not yet seen his most recent born daughter except through a piece of plastic inside the Del Rio prison non-contact visitation room twice a week for 20 minutes.

Basically, after his wrongful conviction, it is now time for Congress, media personalities and other influential persons to challenge his conviction and prison time and report to the public the truth as it has been told all along since his arrest. Thankfully, one congressman [Duncan Hunter, California] has already stepped up to the plate to challenge the U S Attorney General, Eric Holder, and made it clear his dissatisfaction of how this case was handled from the beginning to the end. Also, radio personality Glenn Beck has interviewed Jesus’s wife Diana and shared with his audience the injustice that occurred in this case. Border Agent Diaz is being held illegally inside a dark 8 x 10 cell and treated as a criminal for something he didn’t do. Others should be fighting for his release as his situation can easily be used to lock up other lawmen or officers who do not fit the politically correct mandates of the current administration and stand to be subjected to the same type of mistreatment directed towards Agent Diaz.

The LEOAC website gives background to this case and states “Agent Diaz was prosecuted and jailed after the Mexican government filed a complaint alleging that he pulled on the handcuffs of a suspected illegal-immigrant drug smuggler. Two oversight agencies cleared him of wrongdoing, but the U.S. Department of Justice decided to take on the case anyway. After a mistrial, Diaz was eventually convicted earlier this year. He could face well over a decade in prison. Because former law enforcement officers are regularly targeted by other inmates, Diaz has been in solitary confinement ever since.”

Our government, instead of protecting our law enforcement officers has chosen to burn them with dangerous venom that lasts for a lifetime. They use tactics of fear, intimidation, political immunity [offered to illegal immigrants as witnesses] and misuse of due process elements that alters the outcome in favor of their creative writing on the indictment. The collusion between the Department of Justice, the judge and the Mexican government trumped every right Agent Diaz had to defend himself against false witnesses and made-up charges. His employer, the Customs and Border Patrol Agency, acted in bad faith as they rushed in to indict him rather than rescue him from those out to get him.
