Best Dollar Store Halloween Decorations

Halloween is not exactly around the corner, but that doesn’t matter to local retailers. They’re stocking their shelves in all the department store and supermarkets. Before you make an expensive purchase, visit your local dollar store to see what you can get for cheap!

The best items seem to be in the realm of yard décor, including solar pathway lights at $1 a piece (and they’re disappearing quickly, so act now). Fake tombstones abound, along with packages of thread spider webs and Spooky Cloth (a sort of strange ripped-up net). Rubber rats are always a favorite. Team them up with a severed foot, hand, fingers (in packages of three) and you’ve got a seriously ghoulish scene. Door covers, window silhouettes, spooky shimmering garland and strings of pumpkin lights are also available.

For the little ones, safe LED pumpkin lights in place of candles, packs of Halloween decorated plastic bags for stuffing, pumpkin carving kits, glow-in-the-dark bracelets, necklaces, swords, and wands are also in stock, although they will be gone within a week or so. Some costumes have made it to local small Mom and Pop bargain stores, so be on the lookout. They are cheap right now, but the closer to Halloween we get the more the price will be. Candy is abounding at Family Dollar stores right now, and at $1 for bags of lollypops and Tootsie Rolls, you can’t go wrong.

Don’t forget your party goods! Spooky drinking goblets, plates, napkins, and table settings are on the shelves now.

So what are you waiting for? Stock your Halloween pantry and compete for that best-looking yard for pennies on the dollar this year. Waiting another week may prove disastrous to your savings, so get out there now and grab what you can before it’s all gone!
