Beauty Products I Just Can’t Get Around to Using

I love beauty products. I’m always on the hunt for the next great product, whether its for hair, nails, or my face. I love to try new things! Sadly, I have a pile of products that I just haven’t gotten around to trying. They are things that I thought I would love, but can’t bring myself to use. Do you have anything like this sitting on your bathroom shelf?

At-home facial hair removal system. I picked up a 2 part system for home hair removal. It’s supposed to protect your skin, while getting rid of unwanted hair on your face. While I am loathe to admit that I actually need such a thing, the price was good and I thought it was worth a try. I picked it up, bought it, and brought it home. The product looks great, and I love the idea of taking care of that hairy problem myself. But it sat on my bathroom counter for a while, then I moved it to the medicine cabinet, where it still sits, collecting dust. I haven’t tried it because I’m afraid it will make me break out, and I don’t have time when i can hide from the public for my skin to heal.

Nail polish stickers. I found these really cool, zebra striped nail stickers for under ten dollars. You just apply them to your entire nail, trim them to fit, and cover with a top coat. They look like you got a fancy, zebra manicure without paying the big bucks. But I haven’t even opened the box. First, I’m not sure how long it will take to apply and dry. But what I’m really worried about is having this crazy zebra manicure for some important events that I have coming up. I’m just not sure how it will go over. And I don’t know how long it will last, either. There is nothing worse than running around with a chipping, zebra manicure. Maybe I should just try it on my toes!

Self-tanning spray. I bought a self-tanning spray because I wanted to hide the veins in my legs. My legs are pasty pale and you can see every single vein in there. I like the idea of self-tanner to help disguise my veins, and I thought the spray would work really well. But I haven’t tried it. It’s been on my bathroom shelf for six months, and I’m sure it will expire before too long. The reason I haven’t tried it is that its messy. I don’t want to get tanner all over my clothes, walls, or bathroom. And besides, it’s winter now, so no one will be seeing my legs for a very long time!

Blue toothpaste. I thought this was just the coolest invention. Toothpaste that leaves a slight blue tint behind to counteract the yellowish color you get from drinking too much coffee (guilty!) I did try it, and I liked the results. But I just keep forgetting to use it right before I walk out the door. I usually have a cup of coffee in my hand anyway, which totally defeats the purpose. The results only last about five hours, so you have to use it a couple times of day.

Loose mineral powder eye shadow. A while ago, I found an amazing deal on loose mineral powder eye shadow. It was an incredible deal, and I haven’t seen it repeated since. So I stocked up. A lot. And I’ve barely used any of it. The loose powder shadow is a little bit messy, and I just don’t have time to sort through all those individual jars of shadow in the morning. I like to grab a makeup pallet, put on my color, throw it in my purse for touch-ups, and go. So the eyeshadow sits, still in their boxes, in the bottom of my closet. Maybe sometime I’ll get around to giving it another try.

Age fighting facial lotion with SPF. Once you hit the ripe old age of twenty, it’s important to start incorporating age fighting products into your skin care arsenal. It’s also important to use SPF to prevent sun damage and skin cancer. I have a terrific tube of age fighting facial lotion with SPF sitting in my bathroom. It’s a great quality lotion but I just can’t bring myself to use it. I don’t like the way SPF feels on my face, and I really don’t like how it makes me break out. So I’ve been sticking to my acne fighting lotion and the natural SPF of mineral powder foundation. It may not be as good, but its good enough for now.

I’m sure if I looked deep enough, I’d find a slew of other products that I thought I would love and just never tried. I’m on a mission to give these products a college try and not buy any new ones without using these first. But first, maybe I’ll just make a quick stop at the cosmetics counter….
