Women’s History Month: Events in Philadelphia

Women’s History Month occurs every year in March. It is a great way for people, young and old, to learn about, to remember, to study and to appreciate what many of our great women in history have done for us, for our country and for the world. The city of Philadelphia has some events during Women in History Month that are open to the public.

National Constitution Center
The National Constitution Center will have self guided tours from March 1 – 31 about women in history, such as Susan B. Anthony, Sandra Day O’Connor and women from Colonial Philadelphia. The exhibit is free with museum admission. This event is great for all ages.
Location: 525 Arch Street at Independence Mall.

Classy Broads and Daring Dames at Laurel Hill
Women’s History Month is marked by this interesting event. Buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery are some incredible women in history such as Benjamin Franklin’s great-granddaughter and a Revolutionary War lady patriot. On March 21st at 6pm, the first day of Spring, take a guided tour as a couple, with friends, or just the girls through the cemetery to learn more about all of these fascinating women in history. Tickets are $20 for the General Public and $10 for women. Reception to follow.

Women in Business Network
Celebrate women in history by making your own history at this women’s only event on March 8th. Network and play golf at Edgmont Country Club. $15 for future members of the club, free to those who already belong. Enjoy your time talking and playing with smart, business women like yourself from 11:30am – 1pm. This event is run by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.
Edgmont Country Club is located at 5180 West Chester Pike in Newton Square.
