Winter can be tough on the skin. Outside, the dropping temperatures and winter winds make it difficult to enjoy the great outdoors. Inside, we mingle with the coughing and sneezing public while the indoor heat saps all the moisture out of our bodies. How is a girl supposed to glow at the office holiday party under these conditions? Here are some simple beauty tips for all winter long from me to you.

1. Step it up.

Don’t stop exercising in the winter. If you normally walk around the block, you could try walking around the track of a local gym. You could bundle up and go for a bike ride. Biking during the winter is not as crazy as it sounds. Keeping the blood flowing will always help improve your look and spirits.

2. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

An oil-free moisturizer, like Olay Complete, will do wonders for any skin-type during the colder months. A moisturizer with SPF protection will also help prevent wrinkles later on in life.

3. Get a massage.

Even if you can’t afford a trip to the spa everyday, you can buy a massager from Brookstone or Bed, Bath and Beyond. Massage helps your circulation and enhances the effects of exercise. You could also ask someone helpful for a massage sometimes.

4. Pamper your face.

Facials at the spa periodically will work wonders for your skin and your spirit. Homemade or purchased facial masks will give your look a boost as well. Baking soda provides good exfoliation in the shower.

5. Make it sparkle.

Glitter and shine help make your mood sparkle, too. A little glitter in your makeup, a sequined top, or a sparkly necklace can make a perfect party look.

Even if it’s hard to see yourself as beautiful, everyone can improve their health and appearance. The holidays are a wonderful time to dress up and try on special looks. Follow these tips and you’re sure to have a healthy glow this winter.
