Whitney Houston May Have Drowned in Bathtub?

Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room on Saturday, Feb. 11. She was 48 years old. Though the autopsy has yet to be finalized, there are currently two theories on how she died. She may have either drowned in her hotel bathtub or died from an overdose of prescription drugs. The singer was already removed from the bathtub when emergency responders got to the scene. Police obtained a search warrant for the hotel room that Houston was staying in and found only prescription drugs. There was no evidence of illegal drug use. During the autopsy, water was found in her lungs, but that is not a definitive finding and it may not have been enough to indicate she died from drowning. Fans are in shock over the 48-year-old singer’s death. She had a very public battle with drugs and alcohol over the years, but she had repeatedly tried to kick the habits.

Bobby Brown, Houston’s ex-husband, cancelled his show to be with their daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Bobbi Kristina is understandably not handling her mother’s death well. She has so far been hospitalized twice and released both times. She was reported to have been suffering from panic attacks both times. The 18 year old had been denied access to her mother’s body while police investigated the death. There are reports that the young woman may be suicidal in the wake of her mother’s death. The family is reportedly considering getting her help.

There are conflicting reports as to how the singer looked when she was last seen in public. Some are saying that she appeared fine and did not appear to be intoxicated either on drugs or on alcohol. She may have had one or two drinks while at a night club on the Thursday night before her death. Others are reporting that she seemed ill. Between the strange actions and the profuse sweating, some believed that she was either drunk or high. Those who spoke to her just before her death indicated that nothing seemed wrong and they are shocked, as is the world, that she was gone so suddenly.

Rest in Peace Whitney Houston, you will be missed.
