Week Six Power Rankings, Chicago Bears Edition

Here are the Week Six Bears power rankings from various sites around the web:

ESPN: #18 (Last week: #18)

Analysis, “The false starts and missed blocks are getting Jay Cutler destroyed.”

NFL.com: #18 (Last week: #13)

Analysis, “I started to write this blurb about the Bears, and then my hand jumped offsides. The offensive line was terrible Monday night in Detroit. But at least the safeties made up for it by taking bad angles. It would have been nice to see more draws and screens — anything to slow down that pass rush of the Lions. The only things keeping the Bears over the Bengals in these rankings is Jay Cutler, and the fact that Chicago’s three losses came against the Saints, Packers, and Lions, who are a combined 13-2.”

Fox Sports: #17 (Last week: #15)

Analysis, “The Bears played well in Monday night’s loss to the Lions, and RB Matt Forte putting up 116 yards over 22 carries is very much worth noting. The Lions have a fearsome front seven, and it bodes well for the Bears, who should continue to utilize their best player in Forte. Not sure why he hasn’t been given the long-term contract he deserves.”

CBS Sports: #18 (Last week: #19)

Analysis, “They have a defense that is a sieve and an offensive line that can’t protect Jay Cutler. Hard to believe this was a division champ in 2010.”

Pro Football Talk: #17 (Last week: #13)

Analysis, “Lovie Smith’s seat gradually is getting warmer.”

WEEI.com: #16 (Last week: #15)

Analysis, “Watching a Bears game is like listening to a broken record. More times than not, you’ll see Jay Cutler under siege, the offensive line struggling, and a countless number of yellow flags. Nine false start penalties is inexcusable at any level of football. The Bears are losing ground quickly in the NFC North.”

Walter Football: #19 (Last week: #17)
