1. The River Walk in San Antonio, TX – The festivities and light displays start on November 25th and run through January 1st. You will see light covered bridges and watch carolers singing from boats that are passing by in the water. There is also a parade of boats that are decorated with lights that you can enjoy. 2. “One Hundred Miles of Lights” in Virginia – This is a display of lights that is worth checking out. There is a lot of driving involved because the display covers six cities which is about 100 miles. It is worth the effort to visit though. The cities that participate in the “One Hundred Miles of Lights” are Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg. This is the perfect way to spend an evening or weekend out with the family. While you are in Virginia Beach check out the boardwalk at the beach which is decorated for the holidays. There is a giant Christmas tree down on the beach which is worth looking at. You can even drive down on the beach if you don’t want to walk to get a closer look. These festivities are open Now through January 1st. This is ideal for a fun family holiday getaway.
3. Festival of Lights in Riverside, CA – This is a beautiful holiday lights display that will please young and old alike. Festival of Lights is located in Riverside, CA. at the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa. On opening night they have a fireworks display that signals the opening of the “Festival of Lights”. Visitors to this display will be in a winter wonderland of man-made snow and hundreds of animated figures in all shapes and sizes. You will even see live reindeer which adds to the winter wonderland feel of the display. This display has a lot of lights and will put you in the Christmas spirit. This holiday lights display can be seen from November 28th through January 8th. The display is free and open to the public.
4. “Trail of Lights” in Branson, MO – This is a fun, festive and beautiful holiday lights display to drive through. There is a number of holiday themes that you will drive through. Each section will have displays for that theme. You will see a lot of lights at each themed section as well as holiday music. These holiday light displays are on a 160 acre homestead. This holiday lights display will put Christmas cheer in your heart. This “Trail of Lights” display can be seen Now through January 2nd.
