Sony Bloggie Duo HD Camera

The Sony Bloggie Duo HD Camera is capable of recording up to two hours of 1080p video. This is because it has 4GB of built-in flash memory. Storing data through flash memory makes the Bloggie Duo sturdier than cameras that use conventional hard drives because in flash memory there are no moving parts to become dislodged or jammed if the camera is dropped. Besides being able to shoot in 1080p, the camera is also capable of capturing stills in 5 megapixels. One of the main draws of the Bloggie Duo (and other pocket-sized video recorders) is the compact design. The dimensions are 2 1/4″ x 4 3/8″ x 3/4″ and it weighs 4.9 ounces. The main design feature of the Sony Bloggie Duo HD Camera is that it has two viewing screens, one on the front and one on the back. The main screen is on the side opposite the lens, and is a 2.7″ TFT LCD. The second screen is on the same side as the lens and is a 2″ TFT LCD. The reason behind the second screen is so you can see what you’re doing when you want to record yourself.

As with all pocket recorders, the emphasis is placed on being able to upload to social networking sites and your computer simply and quickly. With the Sony Bloggie Duo HD Camera you can upload to Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr without having to save the footage on your computer first. The mp4 format which is the default is web-friendly and is accepted by most social networking sites. With pre-installed software you can tag photos and videos as you create them, so when they are uploaded they will already be tagged and do not require further data entry.

With the Sony Bloggie Duo HD Camera you can record and play back footage horizontally or vertically; the camera will automatically orient itself. SteadyShot image stabilization reduces blur caused by camera shaking. Face Detection technology is used in both video and photo capturing to recognize faces and adjust camera settings to produce better picture quality. There is a built-in LED light that assists in low light situations. With the 4x digital zoom capability, you can capture photos and videos from as little as 4 inches away. You connect to the computer through a USB port which flips out from the side of the camera. By flipping out you avoid the need for external wires, and it also protects the port from accruing dust or sediment. Other connection ports include a mini-HDMI port which lets you connect to an HDTV. This cord is not included and must be purchased separately.
