Slushy Magic: A Review of the Slush Maker

My youngest child is not suppose to have sugar or, at best, he is to avoid as much as he can. When we saw the Slushy Magic advertised on television, I was very skeptical. We tried, just like many have, to make our own slushy, but with ice cubes. Needless to say, shaking the ice cubes in a cup of juice did not work.

Then, we made a trip to Walmart and K-Mart to find a blender or other slushy maker. We found plenty of expensive blenders, but the cheap ones were sold out. Finally, I broke down and began my search on the internet for the Slushy Magic.

Slushy Magic Review

I could only find the Slushy Magic slush maker on the official website. I did purchase two at the same time so both of my children would have one. Upon arrival, my kids went nuts with excitement. We quickly opened the package and found the ‘water cubes’ to be wet. My first thought was one of the cubes were leaking, but we found a note that accompanied the product that said ‘May be damp due to condensation and weather changes’ or something like that.

I washed the parts by hand and placed the cubes into the freezer. The instructions say that they will take approximately 2 to 3 hours to freeze. We had to leave the cubes in the freezer overnight before they were frozen.

We tried the juice two different ways. First, we tried juice that was cooled in the refrigerator. It worked fine. Then, we put the frozen cubes into the cup and filled the cup with juice up to the line. Next, we placed the cup into the freezer for about 20 minutes. This technique worked great! It took less than one minute to shake to make it into a slushy.

My Slushy Magic Review

The Slushy Magic is a great product and works very well. It is a great alternative for children who need to stay away from refined sugars.
