Signs of Autumn in Two Points of View

Looking at nature I can easily see
Signs of Autumn all around me
Morning grass all covered in frost
Searching for gloves I already lost
Chattering squirrels gathering nuts
Cold stadium benches freezing our — feet
Overhead birds fast flying south
Pumpkin pie just melts in your mouth
Crimson and gold on leaves prettily speckled
My complexion already far less freckled
Visions of shopping lists enter our mind
School night routines add to the grind
So much turkey at each family dinner
We’re all very happy, but no one is thinner
Sun fades away and shortens our day
Wistfully planning my garden next May

Looking at us, nature can see
Signs of Autumn from humanity
White clouds by our mouths from endless puffs of hot air
Dropping our wraps as we rush here and there
Muttering people gather leaves from the ground
Hundreds are huddled to watch a ball tossed around
Birds flying south look down from their V
Confused by the pumpkins with faces they see
Brown leaves line their nests, prepared for snow coming soon
To them our pale skin glows like the moon
Moaning people completing their chores
no free time to see nature anymore
They turn on bright lights to lengthen their day
Harvest their gardens they planted in May
Feasting with their families, why won’t they share?
They have eaten our cousins, it seems only fair
