As details emerge, the facts surrounding Robyn Gardner’s disappearance strongly suggest the friend and travel companion, Gary Giordano, was not the man she thought him to be.
An exhausted, but ever hopeful, Richard Forester (Robyn’s boyfriend), said Thursday in an exclusive interview, “Since the story broke, several women that have had past relationships with Gary Giordano have stepped forward with details describing him as a man capable of violence.”
“Robyn made a mistake going with him, but everyone makes mistakes,” said Richard. “There are too many things that are unlike Robyn to believe his story. She would never go scuba diving because she wouldn’t want to mess up her hair and makeup.”
When Richard explained the last messages he received from Robyn on Facebook, I asked whether he felt the messages were truly from her. He said, “At first I didn’t question it, but the women I have spoken to that have been with Gary Giordano in the past, say he is very technological savvy. He knows how to hack into a computer, or email and take on the persona of another person. So it’s possible, it could be possible. We’ve also learned he has a criminal background and has been charged with abuse before.”
Having just recorded a segment with Matt Lauer, for the Today Show, Richard is doing everything he can to stay focused in his efforts to find Robyn and see her return home unharmed. “It’s the worst thing I’ve ever experienced,” he said.
“There are too many things that just don’t add up. And it’s very worrisome to learn he (Giordano) has a history of abuse, stalking, and not to mention a criminal background,” said Forester. “I don’t care about the negativity people are saying about her going off with someone else, I just want her home.”
Mr. Forester has also been interviewed by Inside Edition, Good Morning America, and Nancy Grace. He attributes the Natalee Holloway Resource Center for the media connections.
The Washington Post reported Thursday night that Gary Giordano was no longer cooperating with investigators. However, details were not provided.
Since the story broke, numerous media reports have focused on the story as to ‘why’ Robyn Gardner was vacationing in Aruba with another man. Richard is adamant that it’s more important to focus on locating Robyn and bringing her back home.
