Review of Weight Watchers Lemon Creme Cake for Dieters

At the age of 56 I have put on a few extra pounds that I am determined to shed. I have tried many different diets over the years, but the one I am currently on is Weight Watchers. I feel this is a sensible diet plan that allows me to eat a wide variety of foods to satisfy my hunger, and they also make sweets that fit into my Points Plus plan.

My local Walmart store sells a wide variety of snacks, but one of my favorites is their Lemon Creme Cake. The box contains six small cakes that measure 2 1/2″ by 1 1/4″ by 1 1/4″. Each cake is individually wrapped in clear plastic, making these easy to pack in a lunch or throw into my purse. My diet plan allows 29 points each day, and one Weight Watchers Lemon Creme Cakes carries only two points.

Each cake contains 80 calories and 4 grams of fiber, and the front of the box states they have a “Sweet and creamy filling.” These are more than empty calories and even carry one gram of protein! I can’t remember the last time I ate a piece of cake that contained protein.

What a treat the Weight Watchers Lemon Creme Cake is. Each cake is light yellow in color and is a bit dense, almost like a pound cake. Although the picture on the box shows a cream filling, my cake had more of a jelly filling that was only found in the very center of the cake. That was disappointing, but the taste was actually quite good and the thin lemon frosting on the top of the cake was excellent. The cake was moist and flavorful.

Losing weight is a struggle for me, but the Weight Watchers Points Plus plan is easy to follow, and being able to have a treat such as the Weight Watchers Lemon Creme Cake satisfies my craving for something sweet. I would buy this again.
