Remembering Forward

The view is spectacular and your hand in mine.
Glasses off, shorts and flip-flops, .
Glistening reflections
And waves against the rocks.
Wind blowing through the tree tops
Saying silent prayers and awe,
Again with the knee I tickled when we were kids.
You just look at me
Suggesting something other than playing chess.
Walking together
Sunset has turned to starlit sky.
Through the yard
Roses, hydrangea, jasmine vine
Ivy and of course morning glory.
Past where we ate,
Past the fireplace.
My hand in yours ~ its ‘meant to be’ space.
