Recycle Your Old Large Candles to Make a New One(s)

Sometimes when you burn a candle to its end there is no wax remaining, while other times you have this giant candle with no wick left and extra wax to make a brand new candle. If you browse the internet you may find that making candles can be costly because you have to buy certain materials and then spend a lot of time making the candle. It takes no more than 1 hour till you have your very own brand new recycled candles with items found in your kitchen.

The materials you will need are:

over the counter steamer or double boiler old favorite scented candles ready to be recycled a Shabbat candle or tall birthday candle a clean pickle jar, jam jar, or any jar or holder for your new candle a microwavable bowl to heat the wax a spoon a knife to cut wick candle to size

Now that you have gathered all your materials, let’s begin. Grab your steamer and turn the stovetop to the highest setting. Next, place all old wax into the bowl. Then, place the bowl into the steamer and cover the lid. Watch magic happen as your wax melts down to liquid. Once the wax is completely melted, turn the heat off. Finally, carefully pour or spoon the hot liquid wax into the jar. It is probably best to wear gloves for safety. At this point, measure the tall candle and cut it to size. Lastly, center and place candle exactly into the center of liquid in the jar. To speed up the wax hardening process, let the new candle sit in a bowl of ice water.
