Maddy’s Sour Cream Banana Bread

2/3 c butter
1 1/3 c sugar
1 ½ c smashed banana
2 eggs
2 ¾ c flour
½ c sour cream
1 c chopped walnuts
1 t baking soda
½ t salt

Lots and lots of love and patience

In and around a large mixing bowl:
Cream butter and sugar
Turn mixer on high
Turn mixer off!
Lick butter and sugar mixture off counter
Add banana and eggs
Pick out small egg shell pieces
Add dry ingredients
Turn mixer on high
Turn mixer off!
Wipe flour off child’s face, wall, and surrounding areas
Turn mixer on low to mix ingredients
Scrape bowl with spatula
Lick spatula
Re-load spatula and lick again (just in case)
Add walnuts, after licking all salt off each and every walnut (just in case)
Spread batter into two 8 by 5 inch loaf pans, greased and floured
Lick mixing bowl and beater
Lick bowl and beater again (just in case)
Bake at 350 for about an hour
While bread is baking, put very sticky child in tub
Listen to her repeat the question “when will it be done?” one million times
Answer this question one million times
Take freshly washed child out of tub
With a little exasperation, take off child’s shoes
Remove bread while child puts on pajamas.
Backwards.
Watch freshly scrubbed child eat warm buttered banana bread
Watch child lick butter dish (just in case)
Enjoy immensely!
