A vase of roses that double as ink pens are the perfect homemade Valentines Day gift. The chocolate hugs add an edible special aspect to the gift. This gift is a wonderful gift for any man or woman with a desk or working area. This beautiful vase of roses is a perfect pick me up for the entire year!
Materials you will need:
A Vase
10 artificial roses
10 ballpoint pens
1 roll of green floral tape
1 bag of Hershey’s chocolate hugs
Wire Cutters
Elmer’s glue
Paint Brush
This is a wonderful Valentines Day gift that will last far beyond this Valentine’s Day. It is a gift that keeps on giving every day, and is a perfect addition to any desk. Most of the materials can be acquired at any dollar store or craft store. I have completed this project for less than $10.00 when the candy is on sale. The best dollar store in my area is the Dollar Tree because everything is only $1. The project takes about 30 minutes including the drying time.
Preparation of Flowers:
First, use the wire cutter to cut the artificial roses apart if they are connected because you will need individual roses. Then remove caps from ink pens, and put aside until you need them.
Assembly of Flowers:
Take the artificial roses and align them with the ballpoint pens. You may need to cut the artificial flowers to the length of the ink pens leaving the writing tips exposed for writing. Take 1 pen and 1 flower and wrap it in floral tape from just beneath the flower top to the end of the pen. Leave the writing tip exposed to write with. Complete all 10 pens. Take the paintbrush and dip in Elmer’s glue, and paint the floral tape with glue. You must allow the pens to dry.
Final Arrangement of Flowers and Hugs:
Place the wrapped chocolates in the bottom of the vase, and place the pens in the vase with the flowers exposed and pens pointing downwards. Arrange the flowers so they are beautiful to look at.
