Fighting Cutbacks for the Older Americans Act

The Older Americans Act (OAA) was passed in 1965. In 2006, Congress reauthorized the OAA as a whole through fall 2011. The OAA has established so many critical programs for seniors such as area agencies on aging, congregate meals, and transportation. In the midst of the budget cuts let’s protect seniors from poverty and losing necessary resources vital to many communities.

I just created a petition entitled Administration on Aging: Maintain funding for the Older Americans Act, because I care deeply about this very important issue.

I’m trying to collect 100 signatures, and I could really use your help.

It’ll just take a minute!

Once you’re done, please ask your friends to sign the petition as well. Grassroots movements succeed because people like you are willing to spread the word!
