Baby Jogger 2012 City Elite Stroller – Review

The Baby Jogger 2012 City Elite stroller is an affordable purchase and provides a lot of versatility in a stroller. The design is very compact compared to a number of other jogging strollers on the market and it has a lot of functionality to it. It’s comfort is perfect for little ones and allows parents to continue their on-the-go lifestyle with ease, especially by the one step fold design. I have used a number of different jogging strollers with my son and I like the size and user friendly features in this model.

Baby Jogger’s City Elite stroller has all the typical features of a high end jogging stroller including the swivel front wheel that can be locked into place for uphill or long distance travel. The tires are 12″ and easily pass over a number of rugged terrains because of the front wheel suspension. You can purchase a number of additional accessories for the City Elite including a car seat adapter that works with most infant car seat carriers. The size of the City Elite allows for easy travel around the block, the mall or while running errands. You won’t find it’s extremely large and hard to tote around in your vehicle, which is the problem I’ve had with other jogging strollers. Most of them involve folding them a number of times when closing them and then they are bulky and difficult to maneuver in and out of the car. The City Elite was much easier to utilize and could be used for much more than just going for a walk outdoors.

Some of the benefits to the child are well worth this investment of the City Elite stroller. There is a raised kicker that allows for better comfort for the child as well as provides easier access to the bottom storage area. The sun canopy can be moved into a number of different positions to block the sun but there are also ventilation panels on each side to provide proper air flow. The padded seat is comfortable and it also reclines to an almost flat position, allowing the child to nap or remain comfortable for long outings. The only thing I wasn’t thrilled with was the magnet closure. I was used to other jogging strollers and their snap enclosures which tend to be a bit more secure. It didn’t ruin the quality of the stroller though, because I have very rarely ever used the canopy when out and about.

The total weight capacity of the Baby Jogger 2012 City Elite stroller is 75 pounds and this includes weight added by a child as well as cargo to the storage area. You can purchase this stroller on the Baby Jogger website: www.babyjogger.com or by visiting a number of online retailers. The new 2012 City Elite stroller is retailing for approximately $399.99. This is fairly priced based on some of the other jogging strollers in it’s market. Color choices are red, black and sand. If the City Elite doesn’t fit your needs there are a number of other models available through Baby Jogger including double strollers.
