The moon chases the sun away from the sky
As that moment occurs colors splash the sky
Hues of orange, red, and yellow
So vibrant that it could be a painting
The sun hides behind the horizon
As the moon takes the spotlight from the sun
The people of Kentucky look to the sky in amazement
Blackness
The one thing that Kentuckians don’t look forward to
To see our beautiful sunset sink below the horizon
But we know
That it will soon return the next day
