2011 Week 4 NFL Fantasy Football: Top Free Agents

If you are looking for players to add to your fantasy football rosters for Week 4, the following were available in both of my 12-team leagues.

1. TE Chris Cooley – Washington Redskins

Cooley started slow due to injury and was dropped in both of my leagues, as his owners watched Fred Davis have two good weeks. Cooley showed on Monday night, however, that he will receive targets as his health returns. Cooley was a must-start at one point in his career, so if he is available and you aren’t exactly set at tight end, you may want to grab him and monitor his progress. He could become a main receiver for Rex Grossman this year.

Other tight ends who may be available: Jeff King, Tony Scheffler

2. WR Victor Cruz – New York Giants

Despite the harsh words from critics over the past few weeks, quarterback Eli Manning has not played poorly at all. With the wide receiver position in the state its currently in, there is definitely potential for a player like Cruz to get plenty of looks from Manning. If you have a spot on your bench to fill, just remember the fantasy numbers tallied by recent Giant receivers (Plaxico Burress, Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, etc.) and take a chance on Cruz.

Other wide receivers who may be available: Michael Jenkins, Donald Jones

3. K Dan Bailey – Dallas Cowboys

If you’re like most of the people I know and you analyze your kicker position week-by-week, Bailey might be a great play for a little while. As quarterback Tony Romo continues to play through injuries, along with his banged up wide receivers, Dallas may be kicking more field goals than usual. Bailey had six on Monday night (including three of 40+ yards) and the trend could continue for at least a few weeks.

Other kickers who may be available: Rian Lindell, Mike Nugent
