2011 Veterans Day Food Freebies List

Veterans Day 2011 is Friday, November 11, just a few short days away. As in past years, many restaurants and businesses are offering Veterans Day food freebies to vets. Veterans and active duty military are welcomed to the following restaurants for a free meal or snack to honor their service to our country. Some franchises require military ID or some proof of service (VFW/American Legion card) to receive the advertised promotion. Please see links to further information about the promotion.

Outback Steakhouse
Veterans and active duty military can receive a free blooming onion and beverage from now through November 11. This freebie began on November 7 and runs through Veterans Day, giving our men and women in uniform plenty of time to stop in to be recognized for their service. INFO

Applebee’s
Applebee’s is again giving thanks to our veterans and military personnel on Veterans Day by offering them their choice of 7 free entrees for free. This offer is dine-in only; however, it is available anytime during regular business hours, so it doesn’t have to be a dinner meal, but can instead be a lunch. INFO

Golden Corral
Golden Corral’s Veterans Day food freebie is not actually on Veterans Day, but rather on Monday, November 14, where they are offering active duty and retired veterans with a free dinner buffet and beverage. INFO

Chili’s
Chili’s is hoping that veterans and military personnel will report to their restaurant on Veterans Day between 11 AM and 5 PM to be rewarded for their service with one of seven menu choices on the house. INFO

Hooters
Hooters is honoring veterans and active duty military with 10 free Hooters chicken wings. This offer is open all day and you do need to show proof of military service or ID to receive this finger licking good freebie. INFO

Hyvee Stores
This mid-western chain is offering a complimentary breakfast buffet to veterans at its stores with in-store dining capabilities. The buffet is offered from 7 AM to 11 AM. INFO

DC Area Denny’s
Veterans, active, and non-active military personnel get a free Grand Slam breakfast from 6 AM – 2 PM at many DC/MD/VA area Denny’s. This offer came as a targeted email, so check your local Denny’s to see if they are offering a similar promotion.

Philadelphia area McDonald’s
Philadelphia area active duty military can stop by participating McDonald’s and receive a free McRib sandwich by ordering and showing ID at the counter. This offer is limited to Veterans Day only. INFO

Tim Horton’s
Veterans and active/inactive military personnel can stop by a Tim Hortons on Veterans’ Day and receive a free Star Spangled Vanilla Dip Donut. The star-shaped confection is free without any purchase, though you need to be in uniform or show military ID. INFO
