2011 Halloween Costumes

Who doesn’t love Halloween? The one night a year where you can dress up as anything you like, be completely ridiculous, and eat all the candy you want. It’s a kid’s dream. This year, we will be seeing a lot of new costume ideas coming around along with the re-emergence of others. Here is the list for the top ten Halloween costumes of 2011:

10. Transformers – The Transformer outfit has been a popular outfit since the first movie came out a few years ago, although it has lost a lot of steam, look for little Autobots and Decepticon’s runnings around your neighborhood this fall.

9. Deadmau5 – Realtively unknown by many, Deadmau5 is one of the best DJ’s in the world and his signature? A giant mouse head he wears when he performs. Look for this simple mask to be popular among the older crowds as his music becomes more popular.

8. Jersey Shore – Yes, guidos and guidettes are still in. Sorry.

7. Disney Princess’ – This timeless classic will be all over once again and is usually in the Top Ten every year. It’s every little girl’s dream to be a Princess and this night every year she can dress up as one!

6. Lady Gaga – The queen of pop has outrageous style and isn’t afraid to pretend it’s Halloween every single day. A teenage girl can throw on a ridiculous outfit she normally wouldn’t wear, a pair of sunglasses and be Lady Gaga in an instant.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean – With the return of the movie to big screens, Pirates of the Carribbean will be big again, and just pirates in general. It’s a fun costume that everyone always seems to enjoy, boys, girls and adults alike.

4. Wonder Woman – Even though she’s been in the news for some not so good reasons (TV show has gotten less than stellar reviews), Wonder Woman will still be a big hit this year because many of the Halloween stores have stocked up on this outfit in anticipation.

3. Captain America – The blockbuster movie will inspire young boys to dress like their new favorite super hero, and Dad will probably have no qualms about them being a young, strong patriot.

2. Harry Potter Outfits – The world wide phenomenon just seems to make money from every angle. As the last movie hit theatres this July, look for die hard fans and casual fans alike to celebrate what will be the last relevant year to wear their favorite character’s wardrobe.

1. Smurfs – Oh yes the little blue Smurfs will be a hit movie in the fall and will carry that momentum into the night of Halloween. Smurf costumes will be all over, but don’t be surprised if you see a few do-it-yourself Smurf costumes. And don’t expect to see just one, expect to see a couple groups of young Smurfs and Smurfette’s this year.
