Unique Fountains for a Grand Foyer

Decorative fountains are typically found in parks and in outdoor gardens, but they are also used to add beauty and tranquility indoors. They range from small but beautiful tabletop varieties to elaborate wall and floor models. A fountain is a unique addition to a grand foyer, and since size is not factor, absolutely anything is possible. Fountains for a grand foyer are available in many different styles from contemporary walls of water to rustic rock varieties.

Fountains are one of the most popular requests for foyers, and they are very easy to add. I recommend freestanding varieties because they can be moved until the client is completely satisfied with the arrangement. Many options are available, and the right fountain can make any formal foyer exceptionally grand.

Consider a Beautiful Wall of Water and Glass for a Grand Foyer

Imagine a wall of illuminated water continuously flowing in your grand foyer. Now imagine the tranquil sounds emitted by two freestanding walls of flowing water. Waterfall fountains are available in designs that coordinate with almost every decorating style, and although the average price is around $1000 for freestanding floor models, they are well worth the expense. The natural beauty they lend to a grand foyer cannot be sold, but it can be created in a few simple steps.

One of my clients wanted waterfall fountains in her grand foyer. She selected an etched glass bamboo design. It was ideal since her grand foyer was embellished with two large tropical plants and tropical works of sculptured art. I placed the fountains on both sides of the doorway that led to her great room, and I filled the base of each waterfall with polished blue gemstones and river rock. They looked stunning. The fountains were particularly entrancing at night when they were illuminated in the otherwise dark foyer.

Copper Spheres and Pedestals are Unique Works of Art

I love the natural patina of copper, and my favorite fountains to use in a grand foyer are comprised of this natural element. The fountains that stood out most in my mind were copper spheres perched on columns. I ended up buying one for the foyer in my former home, and although my entryway was not grand compared to the homes of many of my clients, it looked spectacular. It gave my large but unassuming foyer a grand look for less than $275 plus tax.

I have used many more fountains in my design projects. Another one of my favorites is designed from artfully crafted metal iris blooms. I have not had the chance to use this particular design, but I plan to recommend it to future clients that want to add floral elements to their grand foyer. The options are endless when shopping online for fountains, and they make it very easy to create a grand foyer, even in an entryway of average size.
