Three Small Screen Couples Making Big Celebrity News

Another one bites the dust! With news that Melissa Gilbert has moved to end her 16-year marriage to Bruce Boxleitner, fans wonder if love can last. They are among an elite group of small screen celebrity couples making headlines in a big screen way.

Jesse James and Kat Von D

The on again, off again engagement of Jesse James and Kat Von D has supplied both, “LA Ink,” and the tabloids with copious material this year. This season of “LA Ink” was supposed to be all about the wedding plans, but the couple pulled the rug out from under TLC producers, when they split up days before the season premier, according to The Clicker .

With little time to change course, TLC is airing the episodes taped during happier times. We get to see Kat having a picture of 5th grade Jesse tattooed on her side, and the two of them commuting between Austin, TX and LA to visit each other, while bemoaning the hardships of long distance romance.

The newly grieving Kat was not amused. She accused TLC of capitalizing “on my recent break up” by editing “events that didn’t happen while filming.” Apparently the TLC producers have some magic power that allows them to do this.

Suddenly, TLC announced that the show was cancelled. That same day Kat and Jesse tweeted photos of themselves making out, by way of letting the public know that the wedding is back on! Kat later insisted that she cancelled the show, not TLC, and one has to wonder which relationship has more drama -Kat and Jesse or Kat and TLC.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett

When In Touch reported that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were separating after 13 years of marriage, after Will caught Jada cheating with her “HawthoRNe,” co-star, Marc Anthony, it touched off a Twitter blizzard. Will’s 18 year old son, Trey, lead the way, insisting, “False information…it’s not true.”

The couple quickly issued a joint statement denying the break up, but their use of the decidedly unromantic word “intact” to describe their relationship raised eyebrows. TMZ originally repeated the In Touch story, but has since followed up, with a story titled “Jada Pinkett and Marc Anthony ‘HawthoRNe’ Crew Says They Didn’t Hook Up .” Talk about back peddling.

Will and Jada met during auditions for “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” in 1995. According to Mor-TV , the casting director must have missed the sparks flying between the two. Jada auditioned for the part of Will’s TV girlfriend, but ended up being cast as the real thing instead.

Peter Krause and Lauren Graham

Siblings on the TV Drama, “Parenthood,” Peter Krause and Lauren Graham initially tried to keep their romantic relationship under wraps. Graham told Redbook that the couple were reluctant to go public because, “it’s important that you can buy us as brother and sister.” She has an excellent point! These two may want to avoid making out in public. It could be detrimental to their careers.
