Spa Review- Hair- Ancient Beauty Secrets for Your Hair- Review: Moroccan Oil-

It all began in the deserts of Southwestern Morocco, the only place where the Argan Tree is grown. Argan Oil originally was produced by hand from the kernels of the Argan tree fruit. Sold in Moroccan markets before the Phoenicians arrived, the Berbers collected Argan pits for centuries and their women used Argan Oil as beauty treatments and in their cooking. The pits are ground and pressed to make the nutty oil used in cosmetics. After determining that the trees were becoming extinct, UNESCO declared 16 miles of land between the Atlantic and the Atlas Mountains for conservation and provided money to manage the trees preservation.

There are even more exciting modern applications because of the Argan Oil’s amazing qualities as an antioxidant, UV protector and free radical neutralizer, rich in vitamins that strengthen hair and increase hair’s elasticity. Moroccanoil is the originator, manufacturer and distributor of Argan Oil exclusively throughout North America in a unique ultra light, non-greasy formula. Argan Oil’s unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins renew the hair’s cell structure, seals in the shine, and produce a silky perfection.

Niki Siegel, Hair Stylist at the M Resort’s Spa, feels, “Moroccanoil is fabulous because it is all natural, from different oils and plants to help nourish the hair, not just sitting on top like some of the silicone based products. Instead of just wishing you could do more, you are actually feeding the hair.” Niki uses Moroccanoil for all of her client’s shampoos, deep conditioning hair treatments, hair masks, and even adds a few drops to their make-up.

The M Spa’s new electronic hair washing chairs are the latest style imported from Europe; the client is more comfortable lying flat as opposed to the old way. There is no pressure on the neck and water does not drop down your back. Niki begins with the color application, then washes her client’s hair with Moroccanoil shampoo, deep conditioner and hair mask. She uses a lot of the mask until the hair is thoroughly saturated for the full effect. After a scalp massage, the hair is wrapped in a hot towel soaked with aromatherapy to seal the oils instead of having her clients sit under a dryer. There are so many steps, she does not just wash your hair!

Niki advises, “You can also use Moroccanoil regularly at home to increase the manageability of your hair and control the frizz due to over processing and humidity. It enhances the shine in color treated hair and makes true color last longer.” Niki Siegel has been under contract with FOX 5 TV to perform all the cuts and color updates for the local news staff. She previously worked in Jacksonville, Florida, in the same capacity for FOX and CBS news. With all of her knowledge as a hair stylist for 15 years, I appreciated that Niki explains to clients how to improve our hair treatments at home.

My hair looked fuller, had more body, and even seemed to shine after the first Moroccanoil shampoo and treatment. Besides the glamorous results, the oil assists in keeping the hair healthy. Since it does not have a silicone base, you will not be bothered with any particles left in your hair.

This was the first time I experienced the Air Brush Technique in applying make-up. Carolyn Allen, M Hotel’s Make-Up Specialist Esthetician, combines Air Brush and mineral make- up. Carolyn mixed a few drops of foundation in the Air Brush and was ready. It felt like a soft breeze as she pointed the Air Brush and sprayed my face. The spray distributed the make-up evenly with an almost effortless motion. You can tell the difference. The overall look is natural like a picture. Carolyn created the perfect look for me with lighter, softer shades.

Carolyn discussed hiding the puffiness under your eyes, “When you apply eye cream, use your fingers to pat the area like a piano. Try to get more sleep and drink plenty of water. Our Spa has cucumbers sitting on ice in the waiting room for clients. Before putting make-up on your face, it is very important to use a cream to hydrate your skin in the desert. The skin looks so beautiful once it is prepared properly. Carolyn also works as Make-Up artist with the FOX 5 news department, did the make-up for Niki and Paris Hilton at the Billboard Awards as well as for other celebs and a reality show.

Moroccanoil restores over-processed hair caused by chemicals in shampoos, color procedures, perms, and environmental factors.
