Shakeups in BCS Standings for November 20, 2011, Week 12

The shakeups in this week’s BCS rankings resulted in several top ranked teams moving down in the polls this week due to losses instead of holding on to their current ranking or even moving up a notch or two.

One team held the line, No. 1 LSU. The Tigers defeated Ole Miss by a score of 52-3, a score that didn’t really show the damage that the top ranked team in the nation could have accomplished, but that is a different story in itself.

Alabama moves back up to No. 2 and Arkansas pulled up to the No. 3 spot. Yes, you are reading this correctly. The SEC has the top three spots in the BCS poll, USA Today Coaches’ Poll, Harris Poll and the AP Poll. This is a first in the history of the polls that teams from the same conference have held the top three spots.

Arkansas continues to surprise with continued strength and wins and claims the No. 3 spot this week.

Next week’s game highlights include No. 1 LSU and No. 3 Arkansas facing off and No. 2 Alabama facing in-state rival, Auburn. Could be have another change in standings next week?
