Ron Paul Most Electable GOP Candidate If Electable

“I’d vote for Ron Paul,” said one U.S. citizen, “but only if he were electable.”

Paul’s lack of electability has been the point that many Americans have made throughout the 2012 Republican primaries. It’s a stance that many of them are taking.

“Look, he makes a lot of valid points. He speaks the truth, and he doesn’t pander to the people. Although he’s got some bold ideas out there, I think most people would vote for him – if he were electable,” said one person.

A Republican sponsored poll showed that 45% of people would vote for Ron Paul if he were electable. As it stands, Paul averages around 10%-15% in the polls, not enough to make him a viable candidate.

One self-proclaimed Republican said that, “Ron Paul would be the best choice if he were more popular. But he’s not. If you vote for him, you’re wasting an otherwise good vote.”

Political analysts have conducted several polls and studies over the past two years to determine just how many people, regardless of political affiliation, would vote for Paul if he were electable. Nearly 70 million voters would.

“But he’s not electable, that’s the thing,” said one voter. “He would never get enough of the vote. Would I vote for him? Absolutely – if more people were on the same page.”

One political analyst summarized Paul’s problems as the water-pitcher-in-the-fridge dilemma. “Everyone wants cold, clean, water, but no one wants to fill the pitcher up when it’s low. What you have in Paul is a candidate who can fill the pitcher back up, but no one ever invites him into the house.”

Paul was unavailable for comment due to issues regarding his reach-ability.
