Review: Arm&Hammer Whitening Booster

Any faithful readers know I’m a bit of a nut about dental hygiene, and for those of you who might even slightly care to know, you can see here… and also here.

That being the case, I frequently try new toothpastes and other dental products, such as Arm&Hammer Whitening Booster, which comes in a small tube and is a clear gel much like a toothpaste.

You apply a small amount of it with your regular toothpaste and brush like you would normally. It doesn’t really alter the taste of the toothpaste nor does it have a real strong taste, so you would be going ‘yuck’ every time you use it for the sake of whitening your teeth.

The tube says to store it cap-down and tap it on the side of the counter prior to use. I don’t know why, and it doesn’t seem to make any difference if you do that or not. And no, it does not explain why you are supposed to do that, and no, it doesn’t say whether to tap the cap or the side of the tube or what.

All that jazz aside, Arm&Hammer Whitening Booster does seem to make a difference. It claims “3X Whiter!”, and I don’t know about that but using it daily brightens those chompers up.

Granted, I also use it in combination with Crest 3-D Whitening products (see here), and I know those work for certain. But the Arm&Hammer Whitening Booster seems to, well, boost that whitening power a bit.

Would I recommend Arm&Hammer Whitening Booster? Well, sure. It’s worth a try. I can’t say for certain what ingredient in it might be causing the whitening, because it conveniently doesn’t list the ingredients on the tube.

The worst that is going to happen by using Arm&Hammer Whitening Booster is that your teeth are going to stay the same shade, but that will happen with even the best whitening product if not used properly.

I think the best bonus is that it isn’t harsh on your mouth or teeth, you don’t have to apply strips and leave them for hours at a time, or see a dentist for a professional whitening.
