Reconciling Your Love for Christ with Your Hatred for Man

A lot of people are being called to Christ that still have issues with their fellow human beings . I am one of those individuals; I have had issues with depression, suicide, self-esteem , and of course, relationships. The way in which I experience relationships, is rather abstract, emotions themselves are abstractions, and I am not sure if I am capable of having that genuine love for other human beings that I see in other saints.

I have been saved for 20 years, but that does not mean anything when you see people that were saved yesterday have the type of love and enthusiasm towards ministering into the life of someone else that I should have. Everyone tells me that I am called, everyone prophesies the same thing into my life, but I often wonder if my issues with people create issues with God .

I was watching “Campmeeting” this morning and the preacher was talking about the fact that he wanted to have a relationship with God, but did not want to have a relationship with man. He also spoke to forgiveness; now I know that it is easier for me to forget, or to become indifferent, than it is to forgive.

The bible tells us that we cannot serve God and serve the enemy at the same time. We will either love one and despite the other. You will find this in Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13. By that same token, we are commanded to love, it is not an option for us we are in sin when we do not love one another.

1 Corinthians 13 tells us, in the first verse, that if I speak in tongues but do not have love it is but a resounding gong or clanging cymbal. That means that you can experience God for all that it is worth, speaking in tongues, and praying for the saints in that someone gets saved but if you do not have love for that individual it means nothing to God. Do we want God to be with us on Sunday, or do we want the love that God has put into us for his creation to affect change in their lives?

There is a Wikipedia entry on 1 Corinthians 13; the authors of that social encyclopedia think that love is important and they are not even saved. That goes to show just how important it is that we allow God to affect this part of who we are instead of quenching it, holding onto that bitterness, and then we wonder why no one wants us to minister to them. We wonder why we are throwing good seed on bad ground; the soil is not bad, it is not receptive to the farmer. The farmer is just as important as the seed that is being thrown and if the farmer is bitter the land is not going to yield the crop. Do not waste your time farming in vain; get right with God, and allow him to heal your soul.
