Is it Worth Our Energy Trying to Bring Down the Kardashians?

Doesn’t it seem a little ridiculous that people are putting so much effort into bringing down the Kardiashians with petitions and writing to E News? Its very understandable where they are coming from along the lines of girls are looking up to them and trying to act like them. But have these people ever seen shows like The Bad Girls Club or Mob Wives. Girls partying every night, getting into fights, or married to men in prison. Would anyone want their children acting like that or even thinking is normal?

From my opinion, they are not the worst example of what not to do on television that we see everyday. They are a family and even if it is staged, they show some real problems that are happening in everyday life. We wouldn’t want them to sugarcoat how Scott has a drinking problem and is getting help to overcome it. Or how Kris Jenner has had body issues and is self conscious. Its nice to see that people in their position have problems just like the rest of us.

“In a grass roots effort, we have collected [thousands of] signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming,” petition organizer Cyndy Snider said in a statement. “We feel that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption.”

Doesn’t the emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity sound a little like the congressmen we have running our country. We see them wearing nice suits, driving nice cars, and shouldn’t they be living like he everyday man so they know what issues need be fixed. Of course not all congressman are greedy and superficial but don’t they lead by example as well. And as for promiscuity, why are they not writing letters to those political figures who have cheated on their wives and given the young adults in our country a bad example.

The Kardashian sisters are business women and were so before the television series ever came out. They have their stores and since the television show premiered, they have only expanded their business. I think women can see an example from them business wise, that women too can own a business and be successful.

I think the people such as Cindy Snider should be writing letters to congressman or making petitions to something worth the cause such as education, or more funding for veterans and their health. They could be using that energy to go toward bigger issues we have in this world.
