How to Spoil Your Pet This Christmas

Do you buy your pets Christmas gifts? For many people – myself included – pets are a loving member of the family. They are excellent companions for ourselves and for our children, cheer us up when we’re down, and are always there to welcome us home. We share our lives, our happiness and our affection with them… so why not share our Christmas? This Christmas, spoil your beloved pet with these fun Christmas pet gift suggestions.

Treat your pet to a stocking of treats. Stockings are a fun Christmas tradition for the whole family -even Fido-to enjoy! This year, hang up a stocking for your pet and fill it with fun Christmas goodies. Favorite treats and new toys are great ways to surprise your pet on Christmas morning, even if they won’t believe that Santa brought them.

Save your Christmas boxes for the cat! Cats, as anyone who has bought a large and expensive item will know, love boxes. Cats will toss aside a $50 toy and play with the box-something I know all too well!-so this year, why not save the boxes from your larger Christmas presents and make a homemade playhouse for your cat? They will love the new jungle gym, and you’ll love the cheap price!

Christmas dinner isn’t just for people! Share some of that holiday goodwill and cheer by offering your pet a little bit of Christmas dinner as a special once-a-year treat. As a note, ALWAYS be sure that the food you are giving your pet is safe for them to consume before you let them nibble! Remove any bones or hard pieces from meat, and make sure they won’t be eating anything that is harmful to their health.

Your pet is sure to enjoy being spoiled this Christmas season. Give a little something back to your favorite companion and I’m sure you’ll be rewarded with plenty of purrs and happy tails.
