Once you determine what field is right for you, focus on finding out what the qualifications are. Then find out what you have to do in order to meet those qualifications.

Practice needed

In order to get some practice in the field that you have chosen, you can choose to volunteer on a part time basis. This will help you to be able to get some practice in your desired field, so that you are ready when a position shows up.

Research the companies

Take your time to research some of the major companies or business in your area. Find out how the company is doing, and then see what the application process is. Most of this information for major companies can easily be found online. Or you can write a cover letter along with your resume, and direct it to the human resource department. Do a little bit of research online and see if you can get the name of the human resource person to submit your resume to. You may even find a number to contact the human resources department, and ask where you can send a resume even if they don’t currently have any openings. In some instances you may be able to get your resume in even before they have officially posted the job.

Temp work can lead to permanent

In some instances the company may choose to hire you on a temporary basis. They may require you to sign on with their temporary agency that they use. This is really a great way for you to get your foot in the door in a job you will truly enjoy.
