DUE PROCESS: GIVE the MIAMI HURRICANES a CHANCE

The recent news of the Miami Hurricane Football scandal has outraged many fans, alumni and current players of the Miami Hurricane football program. The news has been heard all over the nation and for some strange reason the media seems to believe former Miami booster Nevin Shapiro. In America we have a system called “due process.” Due process is, “The idea that laws and legal proceedings must be fair. The Constitution guarantees that the government cannot take away a person’s basic rights to ‘life, liberty or property, without due process of law.”

Why Are People Listening To Shapiro

Is Shapiro a reputable source? According to former UM Coach Jimmy Johnson, he is not. “This little scumbag is in prison for bilking a billion dollars from a bunch of people and obviously he’s going to embellish the truth a little bit,” said Johnson in an interview on the Paul and Young Ron Show, Wednesday morning. With all the recent news on the Miami scandal, the Hurricanes have encountered a ton of negative attention in the last 48 hours. The media outlets have continued to talk about Miami as being at risk of the death penalty or being banned from postseason play and losing scholarships. Miami has not been convicted of anything and a current investigation is taking place by the NCAA. It is important for the nation to understand that the Hurricanes have not been ruled guilty of anything.

Remember Who and What Shapiro Is

Shapiro told Yahoo Sports that he provided cash, gifts and prostitutes to University of Miami football players and organized yacht parties. The main question is why are people listening and believing a convicted felon who orchestrated a 930 million dollar Ponzi Scheme. Shapiro stole money from family and friends. He will now be spending the next 20 years in jail. After his conviction he decided to tell the media about his relationship with the Miami Hurricane football team. This is a guy who has been convicted of being a liar and a thief. Why would people listen to a liar or a thief? The media outlets or the NCAA should not listen to allegations from someone like Shapiro. Remember Shapiro has nothing to lose; he is in jail for 20 years. At this time all he wants to do is get into the limelight and try to stir up controversy for the University of Miami. He wants to try to ruin these player’s futures, since his life is obviously nothing but a scam.

Rally The Troops

Hurricane fans, alumni, students and media need to rally around this program. We have to remember that the NCAA is performing the investigation and the Hurricanes are not guilty of anything until more questions are answered. Nevin Shapiro has been stealing from people for the last decade and he is currently stealing self respect from these Miami football players.
