I live in Texas. You may or may not know we are in the midst of a drought. We are on area wide water restrictions, Level 2. That means you can water your yard twice a week. That is just part of living in Texas. Sometimes it is hot, real hot, sometimes it goes awhile without raining.
Maybe you have heard on the news about our drought conditions. Fires have been a big part of our life this year. Grass fires started by storms, people, or accidents. Hundreds of people have been left homeless by these fires. Truly amazing hardships have been left on entire communities.
Untold amounts of money, both private and public have been spent fighting the fires. Much more has been spent repairing the damage left behind. My nephews company is having a record business year, he does fire restoration. When you see the pictures of the burnt out houses, it just breaks your heart. These are people himes, their dreams being burnt down daily.
Now my issue. Driving home from work today. Traveling along my usual route home, I pull up behind a new black Mazda, and stop at a red light. Very nice car being driven by a young lady, looked to be in her early 20s. As the light turns green, the window comes down a bit, and out comes a lit cigarette. She takes off, and my blood pressure sky rockets. What on earth could this idiot been thinking. People like her start the fires that have burned down houses all over Texas.
Watching something like this just really pisses me off. I never wish bad things on people, but it was hard not to this time.
