A Spinbrush for Exfoliation of the Face and Body

Looking at the “Olay ProX Advanced Cleansing System” head it resembles a hair brush and its bristles except that the “Olay ProX” head is likely much smaller than most brushes, and its bristles form circles as is the shape of the head.

The effect of the “Olay ProX Advanced Cleansing System” might even be simulated using an actual hair brush or a regular toothbrush. If an actual hair brush or toothbrush were used on the face, it could scratch it or cause damage, and it should never be used around the eyes. A hair brush or toothbrush could be used for exfoliation or as an applicator for moisturizers elsewhere on the body, but it could still be rough, and cause scratches or injuries to the skin. If exfoliation is attempted using a hair brush or toothbrush a light touch should be applied to help avoid scratching, and injury.

A better simulation to attempt an effect like the “Olay ProX Advanced Cleansing System” might be achieved using a spinbrush; a toothbrush with a rotating head that typically runs on batteries. A spinbrush would provide the vibrations, and rotation that may be needed to adequately exfoliate the skin or blend moisturizers into the skin. Plus a spinbrush gives the option of choosing soft, medium or hard bristles. I would recommend using soft bristles.

A disadvantage of a spinbrush is that it would cover less area at one time.

A spinbrush would be cheaper in most cases, which is an advantage, and it would be cheaper to replace the spinbrush or the spinbrush heads in most instances, than having to purchase new heads for the “Olay ProX Advanced Cleansing System” when they wear out. Keep in mind that spinbrushes are also typically way more expensive than a regular toothbrush.

A spinbrush could also be used on other parts of the body for exfoliation, and moisturizing. A spinbrush should never be used around the delicate eye area if it is ever used on the face. A spinbrush is an example, of what could be used on the face to provide exfoliation, but may not be as soft or gentle as specific products made for the face. A spinbrush may indeed be too harsh to use on skin since its layers of soft, medium or hard bristles were meant for the hard surface of teeth.
